JAMES EDWARD "EDDIE" NEEL

James Edward "Eddie" Neel, 81, of Bluefield, VA went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. Eddie was a 1956 graduate of Graham High School. He had worked at Bluefield Hardware for 28 years, for the Bluefield and Tazewell Farm Bureau and also for Walmart. He was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Blair Spurgeon Neel; brother: Fred Neel; seven half-brothers and sisters: Foresett Neel, Larue Neel Fox, Gladys Neel Gregory, Virginia Neel Yost, Raborn Neel, Addie Neel Lawson and William N. Neel, Jr (Bill).

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Edith Blankenship, Mary Stowers and Georgia Durham, with whom he made his home; special friend: Edith Kinder; several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Jim Drake and Johnny Blessing officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Clyde Smith, Mark Smith, Ronnie Harless, Don Copley, Michael Neel and Steve Gillespie.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at Dudley Memorial from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
