Jack Lee Rose, 70, of Laurel Fork, Rocky Gap, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 21st, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, an avid fisherman, and a memorably generous spirit to all the lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Willard Rose and Gladys Shields Rose, his brother Jim Rose, Sister in law Nancy Robertson Compton, and brother in law Roger Puckett, and by nephews, Jimmy Rose, Mike Barnes and Matthew Byars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diane Robertson Rose, son, Brandon Lee Rose, and daughter, Jacqulin Rose-Viers and her husband Floyd E. Viers III, his brother Ronald Rose and wife Louise Rose, his sister, Susan Barnes, sister in law Margaret Rose, Sister in law Lisa Byars and her husband, David Byars, and sister in law Janice Puckett, his granddaughter Erin Rose, and grandson Joshua Rose.
He was a beloved uncle to several special nieces and nephews and remembered dearly by his best friends Eddie and Betty Viers.
Jack was a graduate of Graham High School and served 4 years honorably in the US Navy.
He was a member of the Communication Workers of America and Retired from GTE of Bluefield after 30 faithful years. He continued his career with Cellular One for 9 more years until his official retirement.
Those left to cherish his memory are many friends and neighbors, his family from the Rocky Gap Church of Christ and dear friends of the Laurel Fork Baptist Church.
Final arrangements were carefully carried out by Dudley Memorial Mortuary of Bluefield, Virginia.
In accordance with Jack's wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service for close friends and family will be held at a later date.
