JACK Thomas Murray

Jack Thomas Murray, Sr, 85, of Tazewell, VA died Saturday, September 21st, 2024.

He was born January 1st, 1939 to James Edward Murray, Sr and Opal Murray Offenbacher in Sophia, WV. Upon graduating from Beaver High School (1957) he proudly served in the US Air Force. He was known throughout the community through his many businesses including Murray's Laundromat, Murray Motors, Foremost Insurance Agency and was an office manager for many years for Harry's Mobile Homes. Most recently he served as Town Councilman for the city he loved, Tazewell, VA, and was a member of the Tazewell Rotary Club having received the Paul Harris Fellowship award. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother James E Murray, Jr.

He is survived by his beloved wife Donna Sue (Morris) Murray and his three sons Jack Murray Jr (Stephanie), Jeffrey Murray, and Kevin Murray (Tammy). He is also survived by his three grandsons, Brandon Murray, Wills Murray and Drew Murray. In addition he is survived by his sister, Jane Murray Singer of Pittsburgh, PA, and brother, John S Murray (Lilly) of Palm Bay, FL and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held Wednesday, September, 25th, 2024 at 1PM at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum and will be officiated by Father Russell Hatfield.

The family will receive guests beginning at 12PM at Grandview until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior or Tunnels to Towers.
