JACK KEENE

Jack Keene, 87 of Savannah, GA, wen to be with his Lord, Wednesday April 13, 2022.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.  He was born in Stacy, Buchanan County, VA on August 16, 1934 to the late Harlin and Orpha Keene and grew up in Tazewell, VA.  After graduating High School, Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country for 4 years.  After his military service, Jack returned to Tazewell, VA, where he met the love of his life, Selena Hart.  Jack and Selena married and moved to Elkton, MD to begin their lives and where their marriage flourished for 55 years.  Jack worked and retired after 30 years from Union Hospital as a Boiler Engineer.  He was a member of Cornerstone Methodist Church in Bear, DE until he moved to Savannah, GA with his daughter and family.  Jack was a loving and compassionate person who was always willing to lend a hand.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing, watching NASCAR and watching and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys.  In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Selena, grandson, Tyler Keene Price, brothers, Jay and Dillard and sisters, Garnett, Grace, Effie, Virgie, Ruby, Georgie, Clo-Jean and Josephine.

He will be lovingly and affectionately missed by his son: Mike Keene of Georgetown, DE; his daughter: Kim Price and husband, Charles of Savannah, GA; 4 grandchildren: Ryan and wife, Hannah, Jennsen, Mason and Zach. He is also survived by his twin brother: Bob and wife, Judy.

A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Bassett officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens where the Mercer County Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites.  Ryan Price, Mason Keene, Travis Moore, Braeden Keene, Coogan Thompson and Hal Keene will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN  3801-9900.
