INA LOIS TANNER CAUDILL

Ina Lois Tanner Caudill, 93 of Tazewell, VA and formerly of Springville, VA, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024.  Born in Mercer County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Millard and Martha Alice Terry Tanner.  She had worked for General Instrument Company.  She enjoyed cultivating flowers in her yard and canning vegetables she grew in her garden. She would bake pies and make candy to sell at local flea markets.  Ina loved the Lord and wrote numerous songs, which she sang to family and friends.  She enjoyed attending the church services that were held at Dogwood Crossing, where she was a resident and in previous years, she had attended of Mudfork Christian Church.  She loved to play BINGO and also spent time embroidering.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Edward Caudill; sisters: Arlice Ellen Harless and Lorene Estelle Asbury; brother: Eugene "Gene" Tanner.

Those left to cherish her memory are a nephew: Donnie Asbury and wife, Faye of Bluefield, VA; a niece: Patricia Helen Wilcox of Princeton, WV; sister-in-law: Charlotte Perdue and her son, Barry, his wife, Natalie and their daughter, Ann Gray all of Bluefield, VA; special neighbors: Ramie Adams and Barbara and Kevin; an extended family of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A service to celebrate Ina's life will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Manny Elswick officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.

Ina will be laid to rest at Monte-Vista Park Cemetery on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. There will be no service at the cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dogwood Crossing for the care and compassion shown to Ina while she lived there.
