HURLEY LEE QUESENBERRY

Hurley Lee Quesenberry, 81, of Elkhorn, WV, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  Born in Elkhorn, WV, he was the son of the late Dillard and Bina Sparks Quesenberry.  He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Hurley faithfully attended Elkhorn Church of God and was affectionately known as "The Peppermint Man".  He loved his wife and his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  Hurley had a strong work ethic, and saw to it that his lawn was well manicured and that the cars were maintained and cleaned.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Billy Quesenberry and a step-son, Craig S. Barker.

His memory will be treasured by his wife: Rebecca Sue Roman Barker Quesenberry of the home; sons: Curtis Quesenberry (Vanessa) of Knoxville, TN, Jeffrey Wayne Quesenberry (Diane) of Summersville, SC, Amos Barker of Charleston, WV, Mike Barker (Sandy) of Abbs Valley, VA and Jeffrey Lane Barker of Richmond, VA; brother: Daniel Quesenberry and friend, Kelly of Morgantown, WV: grandchildren: Chad Femmino of Princeton, WV, Emily Barker of Princeton, WV, A.J. Barker of Bluefield, WV, Eric Barker of Bluefield, WV, Britney Barker of Newport News, VA, Brittany Hawes of Princeton, WV, Roman Barker of Rural Hall, NC, Kayla Setliff of Rural Hall, NC and Brandon Griffin of Summersville, SC; numerous great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews; special friends: Mike and Diane McPeak of Elkhorn, WV, Jimmy and Vaughn Curry of Vivian, WV, Michael and Amy Gentry of Crumpler, WV, Omar and Dolly Burns of Elkhorn, WV, Mike and Theresa Patterson of Mineral City, OH and Mike and Donna Roman of Pineville, WV; neighbors: Nathan and Trudy Bertram of Elkhorn, WV.

A service to celebrate Hurley's life will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Elkhorn Church of God at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Omar Burns officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.

The family would like to thank the members of the Elkhorn Church of God for all the acts of kindness displayed during Hurley's sickness and his Home going. Also, a special "Thank You" to the doctors, nurses, volunteers and staff of Amedysis Hospice for their labor of love during this difficult time.
