Herman McCall Roten

Herman Roten, 92, of Bluefield, VA passed away August 2, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born August 30, 1927 to John Thomas and Myrtle Honaker Roten, Herman lived his entire life in Bluefield, VA. Including his parents he was preceded  in death by 3 brothers, John Jr., Douglas, and  Everett Roten, and 3 sisters, Ola Ledbetter, Dorothy Kaluk, and Dorcas Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruby King Roten, of the home, daughter, Beatrice Dunn (Les) of Bluefield, VA, son, Michael Roten (Nancy) of Springville, VA., grandchildren, Stephanie Roten Jude (Michael) of Durham, NC and Scott Roten (Kristy) of Fuquay Varina, NC, great grandsons, Lucas and Levi Roten, and brother, Raymond Roten of Elyria, OH, 2 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Roten worked for Austin Van & Storage, Rental Uniform, and retired from PEMCO in Bluefield, VA. He was an avid gardener and the neighborhood handyman.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, at 11:00 AM and the service at 12:00 Noon at the Bluefield, VA Church of God, 104 Highland Ave. Bluefield, VA 24605.with Pastor Tony Ellis presiding. Pallbearers will be Scott Roten, Les Dunn, Michael Jude, Brennan Murphy, Keenan Murphy & Cecil Mitchell.  Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Herman's favorite charity.
