HENRY PETTIT (JEEP) GRIM
Henry Pettit (Jeep) Grim, 76, of Bluefield, VA, left his earthly home for Heaven on June 10, 2021. He was the son of the late Austin Jake and Helen Louise Grim. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Gerald Grim and Randolph Grim. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Shirley Blackmon Grim; son: Thomas (Brandi) Grim; step-daughters: Jill (Colin) Olsson and Tracy (Adam) Mitchell; sister: Sandra Grim; brother: Wayne Grim. He had 6 grandchildren that he loved dearly and he gave the last five nicknames: Madison Grim, Caylin (Honey Bee) Olsson, Teagan (Sweet Pea) Olsson, Camden (The Man) Olsson, Ivory (Soapy) Mitchell and Eliza (Bumblebee) Mitchell.
Jeep was a very accomplished man, having been vice president of his division of Electrolux Home Solutions and manager of Kirby Company. He was the owner of Cascades, Inc and bottled 5 gallon water bottles at his business in Fall Mills, VA under the name of Clear Water Company. He was the owner of Beach Life Homes in Myrtle Beach, SC and built 13 homes before a stroke forced him to retire. At the time of his death, he and his wife owned and operated Highland Acres Mobile Home Park in Bluefield, VA. Jeep was also very athletic. He was the quarterback for the first state championship team of Graham High School in 1962, played basketball and was on the track team. He was an avid runner, having completed 8 marathons. He loved his Hokie football and was a 1967 graduate of Virginia Tech. Jeep and his wife loved to travel. He enjoyed 16 cruises (the last one in Oct 2019 with good friends, Ken Jeanette, John and Pam Murphy), trips to Hawaii and Aruba and his favorite place of all Myrtle Beach, SC. But the most important fact about Jeep was that he was a Christian, a forgiven child of God. He was a member of First Christian Church in Bluefield, WV for over 25 years.
A memorial service will be held at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Doug McDaniel officiating, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. with visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
