HENRY STUART BROOKS, JR.

Henry Stuart Brooks, Jr, 73 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Born May 4, 1947 at home in Bluefield, VA, he was the son of the late Henry S. Brooks, Sr and Lula Mae Gillespie Brooks. Henry had served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a craftsman, working with wood, loved to hunt and fish and just enjoyed life and living with his family and friends. He was responsible for roofing more than a few houses. He had worked for and retired from the Town of Bluefield, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Katherine Farley and Janice Lewis.

Left to cherish his memory are a daughter: Angela Perdue; grandsons: Andrew Brooks, Alex DiMarzo and Nicholas DiMarzo; great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Colton and Bridgette Brooks and their mother, Candace Kinder; sisters: Connie Koen and husband, Jimmy, Janie Lewis and JoAnn Lewis; brother: Richard Brooks and wife, Mae; neighbor and special friend: Erin Shawver; step-children: Donna Tibbs and Jerry Ellison.

A service to celebrate Henry's life will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 6:00 P.M. with Evangelist Shawn Boone officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service. His body will be laid to rest on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Maple Hill Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery on Monday no later than 1:45 P.M.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Doctors and staff of Legacy Hospice, Richland, VA for the excellent care and compassion shown to Henry and his family during this time.
