Helen L. Kitts, 92, of Bluefield, VA passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Born in Tazewell, VA to the late Harry E. and Anna Lee Heldreth Hoops, she was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church and attended faithfully, even as her health deteriorated. She was an amazingly loving wife, mom, nanny, daughter, sister and friend. Her huge heart was filled with love and compassion for anyone in need. She retired telephone operator with Verizon Telecommunications.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Garland L. Kitts, Sr., two sisters Libby Wimmer, Clara Ann Hoops and one grandson, Adam Garr.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her children, Eddie Earls; Alan Earls (Debbie Edwards); Steven Kitts and Christine Brewster (David) all of Bluefield, VA; Garland Kitts, Jr (Ashley) of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Lisa Earls-Spoor (Matthew); Katy Mudgett (Keith); Shannon Earls; Jason Earls; Connor Kitts; Jonathon Brewster (Jessica); Jordan Brewster (Rachel Hare); 4 step grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. One sister, Ruth Osborne. A multitude of nieces, nephews, friends, beloved church family and the wonderful caregivers of Richlands Home Health that made her last few years easier, especially Teresa Stacy; Roni Fuller and Penny Cook whom she spoke about so fondly.

Services will be held on Thursday August 22, at, Dudley Memorial in Bluefield, VA from 1-2 pm with family at noon. Entombment at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her name be made to Graham Presbyterian Church, Bluefield, VA, The American Heart Association or A Child Shall Lead Them Food Pantry, Tazewell, VA.
