Gregg Bryan Hunt

May 20, 1963 – July 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregg Bryan Hunt on July 16, 2026, following a long illness. Throughout his illness, Gregg was surrounded and supported by many friends and family members. The family extends its sincere gratitude to all who opened their homes and provided comfort and support during this difficult time.

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Gregg spent most of his life in Fairfax County, where he owned a successful small business, built a home, and cared for his family.

Gregg truly enjoyed fishing off the beaches of Hatteras Island, North Carolina, with his three sons, extended family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. He often began at dawn and fished well past sunset, using the stars and moonlight to find his way home. He also enjoyed boating on the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay, spending weekends swimming, exploring, watching fireworks shows and boat hopping through the flotillas with his family and friends.

Gregg is survived by his sons, Cole, Connor, and Hoyt; his siblings, Leslie (Darrel), Julia (John), and John (Helen); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gayle Hunt and Harriet Hunt Burgess, and his sister, Linda.

In keeping with his wishes, Gregg will be cremated and laid to rest at sea in one of his favorite places.
