GOLDIE MAE JARRETT
Goldie Mae Jarrett, 69 of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 9, 2015 at her home. Born in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Ruby Stowers Woody. She was of the Baptist faith, but more importantly, she was a Christian lady who loved the Lord. Goldie enjoyed boating and spending time at their home at Claytor Lake. She also enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Burnopp.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Marvin Jarrett; her loving son, Scott Jarrett of Salem, VA; her siblings: Edith Byrd of Pulaski, VA, Virgil Woody and wife, Betty of North Augusta, SC, Kenneth Woody and wife, Janie of Ceres, WV, Jimmy Woody and wife, Bonnie of Bluefield, VA, Freda Coomes and husband, Lester of Lashmeet, WV and Freddie Woody and wife, Karen of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren: Alex Jarrett and Adam Robertson; great-grandchild: Addamarie Robertson.
A service to celebrate Goldie's life will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jerry Heaton officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens where her family will serve as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 P.M.
