Jul 27, 1941 — Mar 27, 2026
GLENDA GAIL ARMENTROUT
Glenda Gail Armentrout (Dillman) peacefully departed her earthly home on March 27, 2026, and was welcomed into heaven by the loved ones who went before her. Glenda was born in Falls Mills, Virginia, on July 27, 1941, to the late Fred Horton Dillman Sr. and Lelia Delphine Dillman.
Glenda spent many years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant caring for others in healthcare settings and in their homes. She truly loved her home in Falls Mills in the "holler" where many family members and friends gathered to spend time together throughout her life. She loved spending time and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often taking them to Lee's Kar-Go or The Country Store for snacks or out to eat. She made sure that everyone knew her grandchildren were the light of her life, often retelling stories of when they were little and cherishing every moment she spent with them.
In her later years, she left her home in Fall Mills and moved to Florida to live with her daughter Tammy and son-in-law George. After a few years, she relocated to Gloucester, Virginia where she lived with her daughter Ginger and son-in-law Corky. Shortly after her move back to Virginia, her daughter Tammy and son-in-law George also moved to Virginia to help care for her. She was truly blessed to be surrounded and cared for by both of her daughters, just as she had always wished, and that time together was a gift to them all.
Glenda is lovingly remembered by her brother Stanley Dillman; her two daughters Tammy Hahn and Ginger Bogle, son-in-law Corky Bogle; her three granddaughters, Megan Shepard (Bruce), Angel Ray (Mike), Tracey Young (Lee Wharton) and Cody Bogle. She was a proud great-grandmother to Brooke Good (Breez), Kaitlyn Young, Abbie Bane, D.J. Young, Lilly Bane, Bruce Shepard, Bradley Young, Michael Ray, Darrel Young, Shelby Ray, Christian Wharton, Ashton Wharton and Bryson Bogle; and a great-great grandmother to Braelynn Good and Channing Young with one more, Jamisynn Young on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lelia Dillman; her brother Fred "Toby" Dillman, her son-in-law George Hahn; James Young, beloved father of her granddaughter Tracey Young's children, and her son-in-law's Gary Seese and Mark Durham.
Glenda will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so freely and the devotion she had for her family.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate Glenda's life will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, 1:00 pm, at Dudley Memorial Chapel with her eulogy being shared by her loving grandson, Michael Ray. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 pm until the hour of the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
