GLEN EDWARD KERSEY

Glen Edward Kersey, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age of 79.  Glen was born on July 3, 1941 in Bluefield WV.  Upon graduating from Bluefield High School in 1959, Glen attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) and proudly served 28 years in the United States Air Force, where he received numerous medals and achievements for his work in radio communications.  During his time in the USAF, Glen traveled the world, and treasured the lifetime of memories he made while serving his country.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Ruth (Kirkwood) Kersey, and his sister, Linda Kersey Blazer.  He is survived by his sister, Alice Kersey, of Bluefield WV and her children, who were the light of his life, Justin Matthews of Ashland, KY, Jonathan Matthews of Bluefield, WV, Grace Matthews of Martinsburg, WV as well as other nieces and a nephew, Special niece Heather Leaman of New Providence, PA, Benjamin Blazer of Ft. Washington, PA, Grace Blazer of Pembroke Pines, FL; and his dear friend, Jane Mustard of Bluefield, WV.  Glen also cherished the many friendships within his church family at First Christian Church in Bluefield, WV.

Due to COVID-19, service arrangements to celebrate the life of Glen will be announced at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Bluefield Union Mission, located at 2203 Bluefield Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701 or First Christian Church, Bluefield, WV.
