GERTRUDE HALE

Gertrude Hale, 93 of Hales Bottom (Falls Mills, VA) passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.  She was born in Boissevain, VA to the late Minnie Lucas Dixon.  Gertrude was a homemaker and a long-time member of Falls Mills Christian Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, McGinnis Hale, Sr.  In addition to an infant daughter: Lady Byrd Hale; daughter: Mary Lou Hale; son: Jimmy Totten; grandson: Christopher Hale; infant great-granddaughter: Abby, several brother and a sister also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Carilyn Varney, McGinnis Hale Jr, and wife, Kimberly, Michael Hale and wife, Karen, Lydia Roberts and husband, Keith all of Falls Mills, VA; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; a special friend: Bonita Hall.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Ron Tabor officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Kevin Hale, Jamie Varney, Josh Asbury, Stacy Thompson, Butch Belcher, Jonce Leedy, Jr, Hunter Chafin and Gavin Crum.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
