GARNETTE JACQUELINE "JACKIE" MINTON

Garnette Jacqueline "Jackie" Minton, 87 of Springville, VA and Little River, SC took her final flight on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Daughters, Sherry Sheppard and Vicki Simpson, along with their husbands, Billy and Charlie, were honored to be by her side holding her hand and kissing her cheeks as she took her final breath and flew right into the arms of her Lonnie in Heaven. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Garnett and Blanche Anderson Herald. She was a member of the Falls Mills Christian Church and the "Best Years Club" at the church, enjoying traveling and fellowshipping around food with its members. Knitting, coloring and doing word search puzzles were among some of her favorite things to do. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed traveling with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Lonnie A. Minton; 2 sisters and a grandson.

She will be lovingly and affectionately missed by her children: Dale Minton (Faye) of Williamston, NC, Dannie Minton of Pasadena, CA, Terry Minton (Phyllis) of Sherrills Ford, NC, Sandy Matusevich (Johnny) of Bluefield, VA, Sherry Sheppard (Billy) of Springville, VA, Vicki Simpson (Charlie) of Little River, SC, Roby Minton (Becky) of Mt. Crawford, VA and Craig Minton (Lisa) of Kingsport, TN; sisters: Gay Beavers of Baptist Valley, VA and Judy Davis of Palm Bay, FL; 13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Jackie's life will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Minister Ron Tabor officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at Dudley Memorial from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. Her body will be entombed at Grandview Memory Mausoleum.
