FREYJA "DIDI" JAKOBSDOTTIR BANNER

Freyja "DiDi" Jakobsdottir Banner, 87 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Thursday, December 03, 2020 at her home. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, she was the daughter of the late Jakob Bjornsson and Eggthora Kristiansdottir. She enjoyed gardening and loved reading. She was an amazing cook. "DiDi" was of the Southern Baptist faith after coming to America and had been baptized in the Lutheran Church in Iceland. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Banner and 9 brothers and sisters.

She will be lovingly missed by her only child and caregiver: Martin Banner of Bluefield, VA and over 200 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate "DiDi's" life will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jim Tunnell officiating.
