FRANCIS ELLEN WINDLE

Francis Ellen Windle, 87 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Saturday, April 06, 2024 at Heritage Hall Tazewell.  Born in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jackson Scott, Sr and Lilly Mae Slade Scott.  She was an active member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, until her health would not allow her to attend. She had served as the president of the United Methodist Women. Ellen love being a homemaker and living in the home that she and her late husband, Edward had built. She took great pride in the flowers that decorated her property and enjoyed cooking and canning the vegetables she grew in her garden. Ellen was an artist and loved to create works of art on a canvas with paint and a brush.  She was most proud of her role as a grandmother to Elijah. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edward Arlen Windle and her siblings: Doris Lee Holbrook, Ila Jean Ratcliff, John Edward Scott and Robert Jackson Scott, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Joel Windle and fiance, Angel Snyder of Bluefield, VA and Jeffrey Windle and wife, Kathy of Abingdon, VA; grandson: Elijah James Snyder of Bluefield, VA.

In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated and there will be no service planned at this time.
