FRANCES BELCHER YOST

Frances Belcher Yost, 91, of Bluefield, VA passed away on December 23, 2019 in Roanoke, VA.  Born September 2, 1928 in Princeton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ernest R. Belcher and Nellie V. Harmon Belcher. She is survived by her daughter, Annette Parsons, her son-in-law, Douglas Parsons, both of Boones Mill, VA, sister Pat Belcher, Princeton, WV and beloved grandchildren, Samantha Leigh Parsons, Salem, VA and Gregory Dean Parsons, Roanoke, VA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews in her extended family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Yost, a brother Randolph Belcher and a sister, Margie Elizabeth Belcher, both of Princeton, WV.

She and her husband Bruce spent their entire married life of 58 years in Double Gates, Bluefield VA. She worked as a billing clerk at St. Luke's hospital before becoming a full time homemaker. She also worked at AAA Automobile Club in the membership department.

She was a charter member of the Fincastle Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in the children's programs. She was active in all aspects of the Presbyterian Women of the Church including Circle, Bible Study, Family Night Dinners and special programs. She participated actively and faithfully in many types of outreach supporting the community.

She was a devoted and loyal family member. She loved to cook in the southern tradition for gatherings. She loved to can fresh vegetables, was a friendly neighbor, was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts and made a wonderful home for her family. She had an abundant life with many friends and family.

The family will receive visitation at Dudley Funeral Home in Bluefield, VA from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 27.

Funeral services will be at Fincastle Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 28  at 11:00 A.M. conducted by Dr. Don Scott. Burial Services will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Gregory Dean Parsons, Stephen Perdue, Rob Yost, Billy Rose, Danny Combs, Barry Perdue, Michael Onifer and Aaron Galligher. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fincastle Presbyterian Men of the Church and Mike Melvin.
