FRANCES BURKETT VERNON

Frances Burkett Vernon, 94 of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022.  Born in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Sherman and Irene Thompson Burkett.  Frances was a member of the Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church while living in Bluefield, VA.  She was the definition of a "True Homemaker", enjoying cooking, crafting, decorating and being a wife and mother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas I. Vernon and her only sibling, a brother, Jimmy Burkett.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Terry Ellis of Mulberry, FL; grandchildren: Tracy Allen of Ocala, FL, Briyana Ellis, Ezequiel Ellis, Julian Ellis and Joshua Ellis all of Mulberry, FL; great-grandchildren: Malachi Gruber and Jason Allen both of Ocala, FL.

A graveside service to celebrate Frances' life will be held Friday, September, 23, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Ramey officiating.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday at Dudley Memorial from 1:30 P.M. until 2:15 P.M.
