Obituary

EVERETT LLOYD WALKER
Everett "Lloyd" Walker, 78, passed away on Sunday, June 4th in Bastian, VA. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Brandon Hicks and his parents, George Riley Walker and Beulah "Vernon" Baker, as well as his step-father, Elmer "Hop" Hopkins. He is survived by his two daughters: Deana Hicks and husband, Michael, Jodi Walker; grandson: Bradley Hicks; brothers: Jack Walker and wife, Suzanne, George Walker and friend, Pat Osborne; sisters: Carolyn Jones, Betty Sharp and husband, Jerry; many loving friends and family.
Lloyd very much enjoyed socializing and making friends. Always a generally slick and "cool" character, he knew how to make people smile and laugh. Parties were always a destination that he sought, whether it be formal parties, birthdays, cookouts and any of the like. While at these parties, he never shied away from showing off his impressive dance moves. However, he couldn't dance without some swinging music.
Lloyd also loved his family and friends. Being the considerate person that he was, Lloyd always made sure that the people around him were comfortable and cared for. He was loved by many and will surely be missed.
A time of gathering will be held on Friday, June 9th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Mortuary. His services will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ray Petty officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
