EUNA MAE THOMPSON BARRETT

Euna Mae Thompson Barrett, 93, of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 30, 2022.  Born in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Esther Francisco Thompson.  On September 10, 1950, she was married to her late husband, LL "Friday" Barrett at Bluefield College by Dr. Charles and Mrs. Harman in the president's home.  They celebrated almost 64 years before his death.  Euna was a graduate of Beaver High School and worked for G.W. Cox Department Store before and after her marriage.  She loved the Lord and was a member of Brushfork United Methodist Church.  The church had always been an important part of her life since childhood.  She enjoyed helping others, knitting and embroidering.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her 5 brothers and their spouses: Howell and Hazel, Glen and Jean, Malcolm and Gladys, Ual and Maxine and Carl and Metha.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters-in-law: Janet Thompson and Cecile Barrett; several nephews and nieces and an extended family, including good friends.

A service to celebrate Euna's life will be held on Friday, September 02, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve White officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
