ELMA JEAN MCGUIRE HILL

Elma Jean McGuire Hill, 91, of Falls Mills, VA went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.   She was born on March 11, 1933.  She was such a beautiful person and loved by everyone she met.  She never met a stranger and made friends with everyone.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends.  She made the best chocolate cake you ever tasted.  She loved to crochet and over the years has made many beautiful pieces.  She always had a beautiful garden while she was able to take care of it, and canned all of the vegetables that she grew.

She is now with her loved ones who have gone on before her which include her parents James Henry McGuire and Mary Crouse McGuire, her loving husband of 48 years, Henry Clark Hill, and grandson JJ Hill.  Siblings, Martha Lou, Susan Pearl, and Mary Eva McGuire, Ethel Tackett, Annie Thompson, Mae Clyburn, Josephine Hazelwood, Richard, Bill, & George McGuire.  Son-in-law Ray Wiley and son-in-law Danny Cox.

She will be lovingly missed by her daughters Jennie Burk and husband Jim of Rocky Gap, VA, Mary Holbrook and husband David of Bluefield, VA, Joyce Cox of Johnson City, TN, Nancy Carr and husband Ben of Brownsville, TX, and son Jim Hill and wife Wendy of Falls Mills, VA, her special niece (daughter #5) Marilda Perry and husband Ed of Bluefield, VA.   Grandchildren, Michael Holbrook and wife Tamara, Jennifer Holbrook Barton and husband Craig, Josh Gilliam and wife Brianne, Amanda Gilliam Milhorn and husband Bo, Hannah Gilliam, Isaac Gilliam, Brandi Carr, Benjamin Carr, Faith Hill, and Joey Hill.  Great grandchildren, Tristan Holbrook, Lucy Barton, Henry Barton, and Aubree Mullett.  Her special friend and neighbor for many years, Judy Harrold.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00 at Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, VA with Pastor Donnie Bailey officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Tabor Family Cemetery at Falls Mills, VA.

Pallbearers will be Michael Holbrook, Josh Gilliam, Isaac Gilliam, Joey Hill, Bo Milhorn and Craig Barton.
