ELLEN IRENE RUTLEDGE

Ellen Irene Rutledge, 78, of Mercer Nursing, Bluefield, WV, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.  Born October 14, 1943 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Garnet and Irene Coeburn Whited. Ellen had been a lifelong resident of North Tazewell, VA until her health started to fail.  She was then a resident of Mercer Nursing until her death.  Ellen loved spending time with her family.  Ellen loved the Lord dearly and she would always say, "He will take care of me."  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only daughter: Teresa Thompson Lewis; brothers: William Whited and Wade Whited; sister: Wanda Burton; niece: Angie Barbee.

Ellen will be lovingly missed by her siblings: Judy Bailey and husband, Donnie of Princeton, WV, Alice Greene and husband, Walter of Stanfield, NC, Larry Whited and wife, Debbie of Bluefield, WV; nephews: Billy Greene and wife, Hannah, David Whited and wife, Hannah, BJ Whited and wife, Amanda and Joshua Hale; special great-niece: Josie Hale and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Ellen's wishes, there will only be a private graveside service for the family.
