EDWARD ARLEN "BUB" WINDLE

Edward Arlen "Bub" Windle, 88 of Bluefield, VA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 10, 2021 with his family surrounding him. Born in Rarden, OH, he was the son of the late Edward and Mildred (Riley) Windle.  He was a 1951 graduate of Rarden High School.  He married his beloved wife, Ellen Scott on July 23, 1955, who survives him, together with two sons, Jeffery (Kathy) of Abingdon, VA and Joel (Michelle) of Bluefield, VA.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Tank company in the 19 th Regiment of the 24 th Division. After his military service, he worked for Westinghouse in Columbus, OH.  After marriage, they moved to Bluefield where he worked as a brakeman for the Norfolk and Western Railroad, then for National Coil and Hart Electric.  He was employed by Joy Technology Company in 1975, as an inspector, where he retired March 1, 1998. Eddie loved working in his work shop, crafting items from old oak wood, making lamps, curios and other decorative items for the family.  He liked being outside, working in his vegetable garden and doing some hunting.  He never met a stranger, always with an encouraging word and smile for everyone. He was a faithful Christian and an active member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: John Bintemire.

He is survived by 3 sisters: Marjorie (Bob) Mains of Lucasville, OH, Juanita Bintemire of Titusville, FL and Sandra Tolle of Batavia, OH; 2 brothers: Ronald (Kay) Windle of Dayton, OH and Larry (Sue) Windle of Rarden, OH; in addition to nieces: Susan Burchett, Joyce Kendrick, Jana Wagner and Christi Hale; nephews: Stephen, Scott and Stuart Mains, Johnnie Bintemire, Mark Windle Troy Tolle and Matthew Windle.

A memorial service to celebrate Bub's life will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev Steve Aker, Rev Ray Amos and Bub's brother, Rev Larry Windle officiating.

Friends may visit with the family Tuesday at the church from 12:30 P.M. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that memorial donations be made to MSA Hospice of Richlands, VA or the local chapter of the Alzheimer Association.
