Edith Roland Gilpin, 93 of Bluefield VA passed away at home on Monday, May 14, 2018.

Edith was born on October 31, 1924, in Bluefield, West Virginia to Lloyd P. Roland and Stella Kidd Roland. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church Bluefield, she was a homemaker.  Edith was dedicated to her family and children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wade Gilpin; daughter, Carol Sue Gilpin; grandson, Austin Blake Gilpin; and eight siblings.

Edith is survived by daughter, Vickie Kidd and husband, Jonathan of Arlington, TX and son, David Gilpin and wife, Jan, of Bluefield, VA. She is also survived by grandchildren: Tyler Kidd and wife, Alex of Tomball, TX; Sarah Shenkir and husband, Drew of Mansfield, TX; Ryan Kidd of Arlington, TX; and Hunter Gilpin of Longview, TX. She is additionally survived by great-grandson, J.R. Kidd of Tomball, TX; sister, Helen Rose of Nitro, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
