Dwayne Christopher Sturgell, 64, of Bluefield, VA passed away on July 10, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Chris was born January 17, 1960, son of Violet Sturgell of Kimball, WV. He is preceded in death by his mother and two brothers: Winford Sturgell and Richard Sturgell.

After Chris graduated from Welch High School in 1978, he went on to study Mining and Mineral Engineering at Bluefield State University. He secured his MBA master's in business administration from King University. Chris was employed by Consol Energy/Coronado for the last 13 years.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Lisa. He was a proud father to two daughters: Alexandria Sturgell of Knoxville, TN and Isabella Sturgell of Bluefield, VA. Chris had many family and friends that will cherish his memory.

Chris was a very devoted and loving husband and father. He always loved to laugh and enjoyed playing the occasional prank on his friends and family. He was a hard worker and a wonderful role model to his daughters. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those that he had a positive impact on.
