DOUGLAS ELMORE TABOR

Douglas Elmore Tabor, 84, of Prince Frederick, MD and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 09, 2022 in Prince Frederick, MD.  Born in Falls Mills, VA, he was the son of the late Garnett Tabor and Almeda Neal Tabor.  Doug was a faithful member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Tazewell, VA.  He had served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Department of Agriculture as Chief Grants Administrator.  After his retirement and his return to Bluefield, VA, he worked part-time for Dudley Memorial Mortuary for 25 years. Doug was a kind-hearted, generous giving man, who would go out of his way to help others.  He was an avid dog lover, he loved to tell stories and enjoyed "shooting the breeze" with people he encountered in his daily travels around town.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister: Barbara.

He will be lovingly missed by his wife: Catherine Elizabeth "Betty" Long Tabor of Prince Frederick, MD, formerly of Bluefield, VA; his daughters: Anne Pearson and husband, Thomas of Lake Ridge, VA and Mary Beth Croteau and husband, Donald of Prince Frederick, MD.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Tazewell, VA, with Father Eric Anokye officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, VA.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
