DOUGLAS PHLEGAR LOVELL
Douglas Phlegar Lovell, 77 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late Thomas Shields and Elizabeth Jewel Collins Lovell. He had served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Jim and Ronnie Lovell; son: David Lovell; grandson: Christopher Adam Barton, Jr.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Sawyers Lovell; sons: Douglas Lovell, John Lovell both of Falls Mills, VA, Thomas Lovell and wife, Holly of Bluefield, WV; daughters: Judy Hoffmeister, Connie Barton and husband, Chris all of Falls Mills, VA; brother: Wade Lovell and wife, Christine of Falls Mills, VA; sisters: Joann McDaniels of St Louis, MO, Sandy Mathews and husband, Newton of Richmond, VA; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Minister Frank Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military grave side rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 P.M.
