DOUGLAS “DOUG” DWAYNE HORNE

Douglas “Doug” Dwayne Horne, 65, of Surfside Beach, SC, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, October 27, 2026 with his wife and daughter by his side. Born April 22, 1961 in Richlands, VA, he was the son of the late David Earl and Nora Lee Little Horne. Doug devoted 42 years to a successful career in retail management and as a buyer for a local retail chain. Throughout his life and career, Doug will be remembered for his quiet, patient nature, his subtle sense of humor and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He loved living at the beach, fishing, watching movies and listening to music. A talented and creative artist, Doug enjoyed painting with oils and sketching with charcoal, often drawing inspiration from nature and the outdoors he loved

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lisa; his daughter: Amanda Perdue; his brothers: David Horne and wife, Kim of Cedar Bluff, VA and Eddie Horne and wife, Rita of Max Meadows, VA; many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held Friday, October 30, 2026 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Doug Keene officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Horne, Joshua Horne, Ryan Horne and Brady Horne. Friends may visit the family on Friday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
