DOROTHY MAE WOLFORD
Dorothy Mae Wolford, 82 of Broadford, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 10, 2022. Born in Catawba, NC, she was the daughter of the late Teddy and Ruby Holbrook Pardue. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Living Church of God, where she served as a deaconess. She enjoyed gardening, reading and quilting. She was a classy dresser and loved to shop for shoes and dresses. Dorothy fiercely loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Mary Van Dyke.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 64 years: Clyde Allen Wolford, Sr; her children: Clyde Allen Wolford, Jr and wife, Mary of Springville, VA, Rhonda Gayle Whited and husband, Keith of Wardell, VA, Jeanne Suzette Vanhoozer and husband, Alvin of Saltville, VA, Patricia Ann Melvin and husband, Jimmy of Delmar, DE, William Samuel Wolford and wife, Bobbi Jo of Tannersville, VA and Jennifer Robin Little of Broadford, VA; her siblings: Teddy Pardue and wife, Carolyn, Judy Cook and husband, Claude and Carol Shook and husband, Marvin all of NC; grandchildren: Mariah Lee and husband, Derek, Kyle Wolford, Kurt Wolford and wife, Bailey, Amber Hunnel and husband, Roger, Brady Vanhoozer and wife, Zana, Daniella Vanhoozer, Reed Vanhoozer, Jessica Novak and husband, Jake, Hannah Wolford, Heather Wolford, Seth Little and three special granddaughters: Ashleigh Moore and husband, David, Katie Melvin and Suzanna Little; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 expected; 3 great great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Lenny Bower officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Brady Vanhoozer, Reed Vanhoozer, Seth Little, Allen Wolford, Kyle Wolford and Billy Wolford will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at Dudley Memorial from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
