DONNA JEAN TRENTON MORELAND
Donna Jean Trenton Moreland, 58, Bluefield, VA, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015. Born in Bluefield, WV she was the daughter of Nancy Omar Trenton of Bluefield, VA and the late Donald Paul Trenton. She was a 1974 graduate of Graham High School and received double Bachelor's Degree from Emory and Henry College. She was the owner and operator of DonnArt Signs in Jonesborough, TN from 1986-2004 with her late husband, David Moreland. She was an artist in every sense of the word. She enjoyed writing music and singing, participating in theatrics in school and church, painting pictures and personal portraits and creating original pieces of art. She was a volunteer at the Wade Center, helping with the care of children after school hours. She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church, Bluefield, VA, the Seekers Sunday School Class and the Handbell Choir. In addition to her father, Paul and her husband, David, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Clara Pile Omar and Evans E Omar and Edna H Trenton and Walter Trenton and a son-in-law, Gary Colley.
She will be fondly and affectionately remembered by her mother, Nancy; her children: Bonnie New and husband, David of Johnson City, TN, Taylor Moreland of Johnson City, TN, and Anna Colley of Knoxville, TN; her brother: Robert E Trenton and wife, Terry of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren: Christopher and Megan Colley and Abigail Wells; and other extended family members and friends.
A service to celebrate Donna's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Bluefield, VA, with Dr. Brad Scott and Dr. Don Scott officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to The Wade Center, 1400 Highland Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701.
