DONNA SUE MEREDITH

Donna Sue Meredith, 74, of Bluefield, VA, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 16, 1951 in McDowell County, WV and was the daughter of the late Cardale and Betty Thompson.  She was a long-time employee of Dr. Bruce Lasker.  Donna was a lifelong, faithful member of the Springville Christian Church and Mudfork Church of Christ.  To know Donna (Donnie) was to love her; she woke up every day with the purposeful intention of being happy and having fun.  Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She loved to travel, go on shopping trips, football and baseball games, crossword puzzles and most of all she had a big heart for children. She was affectionately known by the ones that loved her as "mawmaw". She was a mom, mawmaw and friend to everyone she met.  She loved holidays, cookouts and any family gathering, she was the life of the party.  She always had a warm smile and a laugh that would brighten any room; her happiness was contagious.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson: Seth Max Meredith; sisters: Sandra Carroll and Arlene Plaster; brothers: Denny Thompson, Michael Thompson and Roger Thompson.

Those left to cherish her memory is the love of her life for 55 years: Henry Max Meredith III; her sons: Steven Meredith (Tracey Meredith) and Jerry Meredith and wife, Misty; grandsons: Brent Gieson and wife, Ashley and Gabriel Meredith granddaughters: Lexie Meredith and Lacey Meredith; great-grandsons: Braydon Gieson and Joshua; and great-granddaughters: Serenity Gieson, Isabella and Autumn; brother: Kenneth Thompson (Jerri); several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Pastor Tony Reed and Pastor David Lee Horton for their love and support, and the members of the Springville Christian Church and New Hope Assembly for their care and compassion.  We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ashley Gieson for all the love and exceptional care she gave to Donnie.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Dudley Memorial Chapel.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Minister Tony Reed officiating.  Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Brent Gieson, Heath Wright, Jeremy Finley, Wes Johnson, Tyler Thompson and Kevin Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gabriel Meredith and Braydon Gieson.

Though Donnie's passing leaves a deep ache, the legacy she leaves behind is one of love, family, dedication, compassion and unwavering kindness and those who were blessed to know her will carry that story forward.
