DENNIS LEE BENNETT

Dennis Lee Bennett, 64 of Bluefield, VA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 after an extended illness.  Dennis was born in Beckley, WV and was the son of the late James R. (Bob) Bennett and Betty Jo Bennett Gilley and the grandson of the late Everett and Lottie Bragg and the late Jim and Ora Bennett.    When he was an infant, his family moved to Bluefield, WV where he was raised. He was a 1975 graduate of Bluefield High School and had worked for Carmet Corp then disabled from Pepsi Cola. Dennis is of the Baptist faith and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV.  In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Bennett; brothers-in-law: Edgar "Butch" Ruble, George "Dusty" Ruble; sisters-in-law: Connie June Dunahoe and Tina Robin Hale; father and mother-in-law: Edgar and Mary Ruble.

He will be missed by his wife: Rita Ruble Bennett; daughter: Kristie Whitfield; sister: Margie Boothe and husband, Craig; brother-in-law: Stephen Ruble and wife, Ellene; sisters-in-law: Carolyn Bennett, Helen Ruble and Linda Ruble; aunt: Patricia Tolliver: 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.

A service to celebrate Dennis' life will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Don Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at Dudley Memorial from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

The family would like to express a special thanks to MSA Hospice and his care givers: Jenny Parker and Drema Nolley for all their care and support.
