DANNY RAY LEWIS

Danny Ray Lewis, 61, of Bluefield, VA, left this earthly life of pain, suffering and sorrow, receiving his wings, on Thursday, November 14, 2024.  Born in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late James Lewis and Vickie Montana Daley Lewis.  Danny never met a stranger and would give the shirt and shoes on his body to help someone in need.  He had a heart of gold and was a caring, loving, happy individual, always smiling. Danny loved to joke and pick on everyone.  He had worked at Western Sizzlin, Bluefield Regional Hospital and WVU Princeton Community Hospital as a Dish washer, cook and cashier in the cafeteria.  He was anointed and prayed for by those who loved and cared for him.  His family was his world.

He will be dearly missed and loved by his daughter: Tiffany Asbury and her children of Bluefield, WV; his siblings: Lois Ann Lewis, Bobby Lewis and wife, Tina and their family of Bluefield, WV, Larry Lewis and wife, Tonya of Bluefield, WV, Eddie Lewis of Bluefield, WV, Deborah Lewis of Bluefield, WV, Dorothy Mitchem of Sandford, FL, Flossie Taylor and husband, Alan of Bluefield, WV, Gladys Lewis of Bluefield,, WV and Shirley Lewis of Bluefield, WV; special nephew, who he lived with in his final day: Clarence Stephenson Lewis and his wife, Valerie Marlena Lewis, who was his caregiver to the end, and her children and grandchildren;  an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends too many to number.

A service to celebrate Danny's life will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 A.M at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Craig Hammond officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Clarence Lewis, Bobby Gremore, Steven Lewis, Jessica Gremore, Valerie Lewis and Tina Gremore.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.

His life of hurt and pain is over and he now enjoys a reunion with his family and friends in heaven.  God, please take care of Danny til we meet him again and bless his family.   "Fly high and rest in peace."
