Obituary

DR. DANNY JOE DALES

Dr. Danny Joe Dales, 52, of Bluefield, VA entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January, 11, 2025. Joe was born on October 30, 1972 and was proudly raised in Buchanan County, Virgina. It was in this community where Joe was baptized as a young man and gave his life to the Lord. He was the beloved son of Eva Sue Dales and the late Danny Dales and the doted on younger brother of the late Angela Dales.  He graduated from Garden High School where he excelled on the Garden Green Dragons football team and where he proudly wore jersey # 74 and was an all-state lineman. Joe graduated from Life College of Chiropractic, Atlanta, GA. Upon graduation, he began his career with Willis Chiropractic in 1996. Joe opened Dales Chiropractic, Inc. with his wife Dr. Kay Dales in 2000 with locations in Welch, WV and Bluefield, VA.

In addition to being business partners, Joe and Kay were truly life partners. They met in high school, and despite Garden and Grundy being hometown rivals, they went to prom together and from that point forward, they were never apart. Kay became his loving and devoted wife on June 22, 1996. Together they created their beautiful family who he loved, adored, and to whom he was completely devoted.

Joe, guided by his father's example, lived his life with a giving, servant's heart. Joe was kind, loyal, honorable, respectful, and hard working. He was always available to lend a helping hand to those in need, and if you were his friend, you were his family. He was a Godly man. He unselfishly gave of his time to his patients and his community. He was a member of the Lion's Club in Welch, WV and on the Bluefield, VA Planning Commission. He served as a coach for numerous little league soccer teams, East River Soccer teams, and the Little G's. He was active in Graham High Athletics both as a PROUD DAD and on the coaching staff as well as the doctor for the basketball and football teams.  He was known as the MacGyver or "fix it man" for the players. He also served many other local athletes through his practice. Joe had many other hobbies including being an avid golfer and even found time to take to the stage in "Terror of the Tug."

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister.

Joe is survived by a family he loved dearly and who loved him in return, including his beloved mother, Sue Dales, his devoted wife, Kay Dailey Dales, his three cherished children, Danny Joe "Joey" Dales, II, Zachary Alden Dales, Ella Elizabeth Dales, and his adored niece, Rebecca Cariens, daughter of his late sister Angela Dales, who he helped raise with his parents after Angela's passing; mother-in-law, Sandra Dailey; sister-in-law, Beth (Robert) Bradshaw; and niece, Breanna Carter.

The family will receive friends at Graham Middle School, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating the Life of Joe Dales will be held following the visitation at 1:00 p.m.  A private internment will follow.

In lieu of flowers and in the spirit of Joe Dales' life of service, memorials may be made to the  Community Foundation of the Virginias, P.O. Box 4127, Bluefield, WV 24701. Please mark in the memo line "In Memory of Joe Dales." Funds donated will be used to create the Dr. Joe Dales Service Scholarship.
