DANNY HUGH ABEL

Danny Hugh Abel, 77, of Bluefield, VA, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital after a brief illness.  He was born on October 22, 1946 and was the son of the late Charles Hunter Abel and Mary Gladys Peery Abel Cook.  In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his son: Danny Abel, Jr; his brother: Charles H. Abel, Jr; his four sisters: Mildred Irvin, Alberta Hager, Shirley Sandefur and Daphne Gentry.

Danny is survived by his two daughters: Virginia Moses and her husband, Tim and Mary Beavers and her husband, Pete; daughter-in-law: Melissa Abel; 5 grandchildren: Evan Null, Callista Bailey, Abby Beavers, Ashlyn Beavers and Alexis Abel; his sister: Irene McNelly; his 2 brothers: James Abel and Junior Cook; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A private service for Danny will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Branch officiating.  There will be no public visitation.  He will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Tannersville, VA at a later, but undetermined date.
