Connie Sue Powers, of Abbs Valley, VA, went home peacefully to be with her Lord, Feb 2, 2026. Born in Red Bird, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Nina Naillon. She developed a strong work ethic that served her well throughout her life, leading to a fulfilling career at Island Creek Coal Co VP #3. She was an avid member of the UMWA and supported all things Mining. She lived a steadfast life devoted to her boys, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Powers Sr.; her sister, Betty Fontaine Rose; and three nephews, Josh Sutherland, Andy Whittaker, and Randy Whittaker.

She will be lovingly missed by her children, Larry Powers Jr. and Sheila, Shane Powers and Wife Jeri, both of Abbs Valley, Virginia, Sister Joyce Powers and Husband Denis of Tazewell, Virginia, Brothers Bill Naillon and Wife Dee, Bobby Naillon and Wife Stephanie, both of Fort Worth, Texas, Terry Naillon and Wife Ann Chilhowee, Virginia 4 Grandchildren, Cole Powers, Faith Lawson, and Husband Matthew of Abbs Valley, Virginia, Marista Powers and Ben, of Morgantown NC, and Erica Snyder and Husband Brad of Murfreesboro Tennessee. 5 Great-grandchildren, Easton, Harper, Ozias, Azin and Aeris. many nieces and nephews and her loving dear friend Sylvia of Statesville, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends at Dudley Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, February 6th, at 1:00 pm until the service at 2 pm, officiated by Valerie Ritter. Burial to follow at Grandview Memorial Garden (Weather Permitting)
