Chauncy Allen "Chuck" Comer, Jr., age 59, of Bluefield, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Chuck was born on January 11, 1966, in Richlands, Virginia, to Chauncy Allen Comer (Al) and Ruby Lester Murray Comer. He proudly served his country in the National Guard for many years and later retired as a correctional officer. Chuck was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord, music, fishing, and spending time with his family and beloved puppy dogs.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Henry Lester and Ruth Elizabeth Dowdy Murray; his maternal step-grandfather, Thomas Bowen Murray; his paternal grandparents, Thomas Joseph Comer and Helen Hazel Comer; his niece, Jessica Elaine Allison.

Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife, Carolyn "Dolly" Wolfe-Comer; his "baby girls," Crystal Comer of Tazewell, Virginia; Alicia Cornwell and husband Nathan of Tazewell, Virginia; Amber Belcher and husband Jason of Princeton, West Virginia; and Lillian Dority and husband Mikey of Welch, West Virginia; and his son and caregiver, Allen "Budder" Comer of the home.

He was a proud "Poppaw" to his grandchildren, Aiden Cornwell, Brayden Belcher, Layla Cornwell, Jayce Belcher, and expected grandchild, Eloise Dority.

He is also survived by his parents, Chauncy "Al" Comer and wife Ruby of Tazewell, Virginia; his siblings: Ann Comer of Asheboro, North Carolina; Beverly Chaffin and husband Steve of Tazewell, Virginia; Jody Comer and wife Patty of Tazewell, Virginia; Gayle Allison and husband Ralph of North Tazewell, Virginia; Jane Blair and husband Kenneth of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; Wesley Comer of Elkin, North Carolina, with whom he shared a special bond; Kimberley Puckett and husband Tommy of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; the mother of his oldest daughters, Connie Murray of Tazewell, Virginia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Funeral Home in Bluefield, Virginia, with Rev. Steve Aker and Rev. Randall Dority officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia. Pallbearers will be his son, sons-in-law, and grandsons.
