CHARLES THOMAS TICKLE
Ps. 71:20 You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again.
Charles Thomas Tickle, 80 of Kegley, WV, and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Falls Mills, VA, he was the son of the late Charles Austin and Lillian Ruth Neel Tickle. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his country in the United States Marines. He loved watching TV, especially old westerns and he also liked to read. He had volunteered for the Princeton Library for over 10 years. Charlie was a family oriented gentleman, loving his Mom, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also a volunteer for various Rescue Squad Units locally. He will be remembered as a great Father and Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his brother: Roger Wayne Tickle, as well as his parents.
He will be lovingly and affectionately missed by his wife of 35 years: Peggy Knapp Tickle of Kegley, WV; his children: Ginny Fisher and husband, Hooger of Bluefield, VA, Billy Tickle and wife, Cyndi of Bluefield, VA, Chris Tickle and companion, Susan Vaughn of Savanah, GA, Jaime Goodman and wife, Dawn of Monterey, CA, Joe Goodman and wife, Lori of Johnson City, TN, Karri Carlile and husband, Chad of Teton, ID and Kelly Patel and husband, Neal of Princeton, WV; his brother: Randall K. Tickle of Gulf Breeze, FL and his sister and best friend, Maxine M. Roaten of Bluefield, VA; 20 Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 A. M. at Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel. The Mercer County Honor Guard will officiate Military Last Rites. His grandsons, Jody Fisher, Aaron Fisher, Christopher Belcher II, Codi Belcher Carlile and Brandon Goodman will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Dudley Memorial to help the family with the funeral expenses.
