Charles Lewis, 74, of Bluefield, Va. passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home. Born on November 26, 1944 in Tazewell Co. VA, he was the son of the late David William McKinley Lewis and   Wornie Vestil Lewis. He retired from the Sanitary Board in Bluefield, VA after 39 years of service. He loved watching western shows and was always willing to help others.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings: Mckinley (Mack) Lewis, Willie Johnson Lewis, Robert Nelson Lewis, Alvin (Squeak) Lewis, Rachel Roaten Lewis, Jeff William Lewis, David Crockett Lewis.

He is survived by his wife: Linda (Proffitt) Lewis; daughter: Patricia Church and husband, Chris; son: Charles Lewis Jr; brother: Melvin Lewis; sister: Nora Coligan and husband, Donald; Grandchildren: Morgan Wilson and Jaclyn Church; Great-grandchildren: Eli, Madison and Reese.

A service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held Friday, October 04, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Richard Jessee officiating. Burial will be follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Lewis, Jr, Joshua Wilson, John Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Randy Belcher and Zac Cline.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday at Dudley Memorial from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
