Obituary

BRIDGET KAREN HOOSIER

Bridget Karen Hoosier went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16th, 2024.  She was born on May 10, 1957, to the late James and Carrie Whitman. Born in Bluefield, WV, she was a graduate of Graham High School.  Bridget spent many years as a preschool teacher doing what she loved most, which was teaching and nurturing children.  Bridget was strong in her faith.  She loved the Lord and obediently served Him by ministering faithfully in love to her family, friends, and to all of the children she taught.  She was a loving wife, mother, and most importantly "Nana".  Bridget loved being around family and friends and soaking in the sunshine anywhere she went, especially at the beach.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Doug Hoosier.  She is also survived by her oldest son Adam Hoosier and his wife Brandi of Pikeville, Kentucky, her youngest son Eric Hoosier and his wife Robin of Radford, Virginia, her sister and best friend, Vickie Furrow of Bluefield, Virginia and a friend who was like family, Anita Littlejohn of Bluefield, Virginia.  If there was one title that Bridget loved the most, it was being called Nana.  She leaves behind her 6 grandchildren: Kendall Hoosier, Kaden Hoosier, Kinsley Hoosier, Olivia Hoosier, EJ Hoosier and Ceci Hoosier.  Her memory will live on with us forever and guide us through our toughest times.  We will miss her and love her always.

Visitation will be held at Dudley Memorial Mortuary on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at 10 a.m.  A service will be held at 11 a.m. for family and friends at Grandview Memory Gardens at the mausoleum with Pastor Don Elswick, pallbearers will be Adam Hoosier. Eric Hoosier, Kyle Furrow, Stephen Wiley and Jacob Hoosier.  A private graveside service will be held for family only afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Grace Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 1359, North Tazewell, VA 24630.
