BRENDA MARIE SHORTRIDGE

Brenda Marie Shortridge, 59, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Saturday, September 02, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born in Okinawa, Japan, she was the daughter of the late James Junior Sullivan and Betty Jane Byrd Sullivan.  She had worked as a CNA for her life's vocation. Brenda attended church at The Bridge in Princeton, WV.  She enjoyed playing Rummikub with her mother-in-law.  She also enjoyed BINGO. Fishing, taking trips to Myrtle Beach and riding motorcycles were things she enjoyed doing with her husband.  Brenda's granddaughters were her greatest joy and she loved spending time with them, especially when they were swimming.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Teresa "Terry" Lynn Watson.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 37 years: Mark Shortridge; her daughter: Christine Stasheen and husband, Chad of Falls Mills, VA; her siblings: John Sullivan of Bluewell, WV and Norma Sullivan of Richmond, VA; her granddaughters: Chloe and Jordyn Shrewsbury; her mother-in-law and caregiver: Jerry Shortridge of Green, OH; a special friend: April Lester of Bluefield, VA.

A service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held Wednesday, September 06, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eddie Day officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
