Brenda Jo (Walker) Scott went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Roanoke Carilion Hospital, Roanoke, VA, with her devoted and loving daughter, Michelle, by her side. Brenda Jo was born May 30, 1947, to Leonard Walker and Margaret (Gaggy) Etter Walker. She was the joy of their life. On May 22, 1965, she married the love of her life, Walter Scott. They have had a wonderful and loving marriage for 61 years. On July 24, 1968, their union was blessed with a beautiful and caring daughter, Michelle, who was the light of Brenda's world. Brenda worked at Bluefield Supply Company for many years. She retired from the United States Postal Service, serving as Postmaster in several local offices. She loved the Lord with all her heart and attended Falls Mills United Methodist Church for many years, serving as church historian and Sunday School teacher. She loved to read and especially loved Dirt Track Racing. She loved watching Superman, Jonathan Davenport #49 and was his biggest fan. Brenda Jo was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and friend to all that knew her.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Walter A. Scott; daughter: Michelle Blankenship and husband, Jimmy Don; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Rodney and Betty Jo Scott; special niece: Bonita Matney and husband, Kelvin; special friends: Lucy Bowman and Sis Nester; great friend: Connie Sarver; her feline fur baby: Walker.
A service to celebrate Brenda Jo's life will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Falls Mills United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Asbury officiating. Following the service, the burial will be for family only.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Falls Mills United Methodist Church from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
