Brenda Ann Lawhorne

Brenda Ann Patrick Lawhorne, cherished loving mother of four, grandmother of three, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 30, 2021. A viewing for family and friends will be held at Dudley Memorial Mortuary, 729 Virginia Ave, Bluefield, VA 24605 on Wednesday 1/5/2022 at 2pm with a service at 4pm.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Norma Grace and her three siblings Tommy, Joann, and Ronnie Patrick, and is survived by her father Thomas, her children Lenee, Aleyda, Dalenna, Derek, and her grandchildren Rhett, Aidan, and Zoe.

Born on December 21, 1954 in Bluefield, VA to Thomas Alva Patrick and Norma Grace Howard Patrick, she was raised Christian and flourished in everything she did with grace, love, and passion. Brenda loved life and was loved by all who were blessed to know her. She never met a stranger and always had kind words for everyone. She loved music and was gifted with song. Brenda was a wonder with words. She loved to read and write poetry. She was artistic and eccentric, full of opinions and always ready to share. She'd give you the shirt off her back or shoes from her feet if she felt you needed them. Brenda had a strong, fearless spirit. She climbed mountains barefoot as a girl to be closer to God. She took ballroom dancing because she felt it was romantic. She went skydiving for the thrill. She was the perfect example of motherhood and a precious grandmother. Brenda loved the Lord, walked by faith, and was a fierce prayer warrior. She is now at peace, praising, rejoicing, and dancing pain free in jubilation at our Lord's side in reunion with her loved ones that preceded her. She touched so many people with her compassion and sincerity and she will be greatly missed by all.
