Betty Sue Smith
September 27, 1942 – February 15, 2025

Betty Sue Smith, 82, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell VA.  She was born in Tazewell County, Virginia.  She was the daughter of the late Curtis Madison Holbrook and the late Mary Belle Brewer Holbrook.  Betty attended the First Church of God in Brushfork.  She was a homemaker, working hard to take care of her family.  She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, and anything puzzle related.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. "Red" Smith, her son William Walker "Willie" Smith, and daughter Peggy Sue Smith.  Also preceding her in death are her siblings Robert "Bobby" Holbrook, William "Bill" Holbrook, Curtis Madison "Bud" Holbrook, Jr., Jane Shrader, Nancy Taylor, and Peggy Hamm.

She will be lovingly missed by her sister Louise Thompson of Glenwood, WV and sister-in-law Peggy Cornwell of Bluefield VA along with several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Betty's wishes, she has been cremated.  A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 with the Reverend Dennis McLemore.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service to share their fondest memories of Betty and remember her for the strong woman she was.
