BETTY JOYCE PERKINS
Betty Joyce Perkins, 83 of Bluefield, VA, went to be with Jesus and family on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Born in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Kyle and Willie Mae Hancock Yost. Betty enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for the needs of her family. She loved working with her flowers and gardening. She had a compassion for animals and was faithful to support the United Christian Ministerial Association and other charities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Edward Perkins; brothers: Wayne and Robert Yost.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son: Paul Daniel Perkins and partner, John Franklin Gainer of Beaverton, Oregon; brother: William Fred Yost of Bluefield, VA; sisters: Ina Jean Cubeta and Ellen Louise Gollie, both of Delaware; sister-in-law: Ruth Jean Cronk of Salem, VA; numerous nieces and nephews.
A grave side service celebrating Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens with Jeff Stacy officiating. There will be no public visitation. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Grandview Memory Gardens no later than 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
