BETTY JEAN KISER
Betty Jean Kiser, 94 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Princeton Health Care. Born in Hurley, VA, she was the daughter of the late Burke Johnson and Betty Smith Johnson. She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church. She loved to shop, travel and read. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her favorite pastime. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harvey Lee Kiser; siblings: Edward "Brother" Johnson, Nora Summerford, Jane Smith, Burke Johnson, Jr, her twin, Richard Johnson, Mary Helen Wescott, Patton Johnson, Carma Johnson, Blanche Riekoff, Randy Johnson and Dale Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Stan Kiser and wife, Grey of Bluefield, VA and Vicki Mays and husband, Watt of Bluefield, VA; siblings: Emma "Jo Bill" McCoy and husband, Archie of Bluefield, VA, Joe Ed Johnson and wife, Lois of New Orleans, LA and Lois "Jenny Ann" Kennedy and husband, Pete of Roseburg, OR; grandchildren: Lee and Rob Hockensmith , Doug and Joy Mays and Leslie and Matt Farr all of Ashland, VA; great-grandchildren: Olivia and Lily Hockensmith, Kaylee and Kami Mays and Avery and Addison Farr.
A service to celebrate Betty's life will be held Saturday, August 07, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Graham Presbyterian Church with Rev Bill Lively officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Doug Mays, Matt Farr, Rob Hockensmith, Scott Kiser, Scott Johnson and Brice Bovenizer will serve as pallbearers. Archie McCoy and Ralph Kiser will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday morning at Graham Presbyterian Church from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that donations be made to the Bluefield Union Mission in Betty's memory
