BETTY LOU COON

Betty Lou Coon of Bluefield, VA passed away Monday April 1, 2019 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born April 30, 1936 in Princeton, WV to Cephus and Flossie Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Gail Richardson, son David Coon, and granddaughter Cindy Richardson. Betty spent her early years in Iaeger, WV and Bluefield, VA. She graduated from Graham High School in 1954. After the loss of her first husband, Billy Richardson, she rekindled a romance with her high school sweetheart Billy Coon with whom she married and moved to Chicago for 19 years. Upon their retirement they moved to Bluefield, VA. She loved crafting, reading and yard sales and spending time with her family.

She will be affectionately remembered by her husband Billy Joe Coon, son: Larry Richardson (Theresa) of Bluefield, VA, daughters Karen Beth Roberts of Bluefield, VA and Sherri Cooper of Florence, AL. Grandchildren: Jimmy Richardson (Heather), Brandon Richardson, Chris Richardson, Kelly Richardson, Kayla Richardson, Stephen Richardson (Leslie), Thomas Coon, Stephanie Ohllaskey, Brian Nunn (Melissa), Jennifer Sarver (Zach), Valeah Bradshaw (Rex), and numerous great grandchildren.

Service to celebrate Mrs. Coon's life will be Friday April 5, 2019 at 1:00pm at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Charles Leonard officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with be from 12:00 until the hour of service with burial following at Maple Hill Cemetery.
