Betty June Addington, 86, of Roanoke, Virginia (formerly of Bluefield, VA) passed away on April 25, 2019 at Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 27,1932 in Cambria, VA to the late Richard Collins and Edna Blevins Collins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Addington, Sr.; her daughter, Martha Oblinger; and her brother, Richard "Dick" Collins, Jr.. She is survived by her brother, Rev. Danny (Pat) Collins of Fairlawn, VA;  her sister, Joann Lackey of Roanoke, VA; her daughter, Rebecca (David) Gess of Barboursville, VA; her son, Charles Addington, Jr. of San Diego, CA; her granddaughters, Sarah (Michael) Kruger of Kent, CT; Emily Oblinger of Harrisonburg, VA; Amy (Brandon Morey) Oblinger of Columbus, OH; and Lora Gess of Charlottesville,VA; and her great-granddaughter, Addy Lou Kruger of Kent, CT.

Betty June's calling in life was living out her faith in Christ through service to others. From a young age, she set on a path of serving her Lord and Savior through missions and singing in her church. Side by side with her husband Charles,  she spent a lifetime serving the Lord both as a pastor's wife and as a faithful church member. Her unwavering faith also showed in her love and devotion to her family, especially her four granddaughters. Her humble, sincere,and faithful service to the Lord touched many lives.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11AM at North Roanoke Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA with Rev. Danny Collins and Rev. Roger Roller officiating. The family will receive visitors between 10AM and 11AM at the church prior to the service. There will be a separate graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA at 3PM.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice and the staff of Unit 2 at Springtree for their caring compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Rd. SW, Roanoke, VA 24018.
